With so many powerful snowstorms hitting the region lately, it may be hard to believe that Caribou has received only 7.3 inches of snow this month. But that will change with another storm moving across the state.

The National Weather Service office in Caribou says a winter storm will affect the region Thursday into Friday morning, with the potential for 6 to 10 inches of snow in northern Maine.  A winter storm watch has been posted for the entire state as the storm moves south to north Wednesday evening.

Forecasters say west winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph as the snow tapers off early Friday morning. This will produce areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Since January 1st, Caribou has received about 41 inches of snow, compared with nearly 6 feet in Bangor in that same period.
