The RCMP is investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist Saturday night near Hartland, N.B.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a motorcycle went off the Rockland Road in Rockland and struck a fence, according to Cpl. Mathieu Gallienne of the West District RCMP. The 53-year-old man from Windsor, N.B., who was driving, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The Hartland Fire Department and paramedics also responded to the scene.

Hartland Fire Chief Mike Walton told the Bugle-Observer that the accident occurred on the same turn where a 16-year-old girl was killed in a crash in November 2015.

The investigation into the cause of Saturday night’s crash is continuing. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
