It can only be called a whacky night for Fort Kent's Austin Theriault in the NASCAR XFINITY series race in Richmond, Virginia. When it was over, Theriault was in 37thplace and telling his fans 'today was not without struggles and adversity. Those days make you stronger and determined'.

Theriault was supposed to drive the #77 Chevy for the Obeika Racing Team but could not get the car to go fast enough to qualify for the 40-car field. The deal to have Theriault race the #77 was a last minute deal.

He ended up changing the number on the car ( to #25) and racing for the Rick Ware Racing team. That team had enough owner points to get into the field. The Obeika Racing Team's only chance to get in the race was to qualify in the top 40.

So Theriault raced for 84 laps before an overheating problem forced the car out of the race. He finished 37th out of the 40 cars in the field.

Kyle Busch won the race.
