The winner of the Jimmy Vesey sweepstakes is...the New York Rangers. The Hobey Baker Award winning Harvard captain passed on the Boston Bruins and at least five other NHL teams.

He will sign a two year entry level deal with the Rangers.

Vesey had 144 points in 128 games for Harvard.

He was originally drafted by Nashville but play all four college years and elected to become a free agent.

The Bruins met with him for several hours two days ago but apparently could not convince him to play at home.
