A downtown Presque Isle eatery has reopened after being burglarized and vandalized sometime late Thursday, January 5th, or early Friday, January 6th.

The Riverside Inn restaurant, owned by Dan and Sandy Collins, reopened Monday, March 6 after customers were able to walk through the restaurant and see the remodeling on Saturday.

The door to the establishment was found kicked in and glass broken. According to Fiddlehead Focus, Presque Isle Police arrested 30-year-old Jamison O’Neal, a former employee, Monday, January 9 on charges of criminal mischief and trespass for allegedly breaking doors and windows at the restaurant. 27 year old Joshua Easler was also being sought by the police.

The Collins have operated the restaurant for 34 years and are considered a vital part of downtown Presque Isle.
