The U.S. National Team Development Program (USNTDP) is made up of many of the best 18-year-old hockey players in the country and Friday night that team beat up the UMaine hockey team 6-2 in an exhibition game at Alfond Arena.

Grant Mismash (Edina, Minn) scored a hat trick to lead the national team.

Patrick Holway and Brendan Robbins scored the goals for UMaine.

The Black Bears freshman Stephen Mundinge made his first start in goal and he made 24 saves.

The USNTDP team is playing over 50 games around the country in preparation for the U18s IIHF World Championship in April. The team is 17-15-2 overall and 6-7-1 vs NCAA competition so far.

The Black Bears get back to countable games next Thursday and Saturday vs UConn. The Saturday game is the Frozen Fenway matchup.
