The UMaine women's basketball team held St. Peter's to just 18 points in the second half on their way to a 59-43 win in their first game of the Naismith Hall of Fame Tournament in South Carolina.

Freshman Laia Sole led the Black Bears in scoring with 16 points.

The Peacocks turned the ball over 26 times while Maine had just seven times.

The Bears improve to 2-2 and now take on #3 in the nation Gamecocks of South Carolina tonight at 7pm.

In Boston, the UMaine men's team lost to Northeastern Sunday 80-72. It was the second of three games at the Steve Wright Classic Tournament.

Wes Myers led the Bears with 19 points.

Maine drops to 1-3 and will play LIU-Brooklyn at 3pm today.
