UM Football Rolls Out New Helmets

The University of Maine Black Bears will be opening up the season on Thursday night against the UConn Huskies and will be doing so with a new helmet design.

The Black Bears unveiled these helmets on their Twitter page on Wednesday morning in advance of the FBS match-up.  The design shows a light blue stripe with the Maine script and Bear mascot on the sides.

UMaine faces the Huskies of UConn on Thursday at 7 p.m. and will face another FBS school in Toledo next Saturday.  The Black Bears will return home to face James Madison in the conference opener on September 24th.
