U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo has been suspended from the women's national team for six months for what USA Soccer is calling 'conduct that is counter to the organization's principles'.

After getting knocked out of the olympics by Sweden in a penalty shootout, Solo called team Sweden 'a bunch of cowards'.

U.S. Soccer says it was that comment and past incidents with Solo that she is being suspended for and that the suspension starts immediately.

The suspension does not effect her play with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League.
