For the past several weeks, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bangor Police Department have been investigating 18-year-old Isaiah "Izzy" Orane of Brooklyn, N.Y., according to MDEA Commander Peter Arno.

Orane was first arrested by Bangor Police on June 26 and charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and trafficking in Schedule W drugs. At the time of this arrest, police said Orane was found to be in possession of a large quantity of heroin and crack cocaine.  He was released the following day after posting a $20,000 cash bail.

Following Orane's release, investigators reported that he continued his drug trafficking activities in the Bangor area.  Arno says that over the past couple of weeks an undercover MDEA agent was able to make a number of heroin purchases from Orane and his associates.

Orane was arrested again on Monday and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail where he continues to be held pending an arraignment on Wednesday.

As part of the same investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Noelle Hansen of Ellsworth after she allegedly sold heroin to an undercover MDEA agent. Arno said Hansen was found to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of heroin at the time of her arrest . She was transported to the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth. Bail was set at $10,000 cash.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says more arrests are expected. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Brewer Police Department have also been assisting in the investigation.
