Two men have been charged with arson in connection with a pair of fires this week in western New Brunswick.

On Monday, February 10 at approximately 6 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of two structure fires on the Ashland Road in Mainstream. The Hartland Fire Department, along with crews from Florenceville-Bristol extinguished the fires at a mobile home and a detached garage. Both buildings were completely destroyed. No one was injured.

Two Mainstream men have been arrested and charged in connection with the fires. RCMP say 24-year-old Matthew Johnston and 26-year-old Patrick Kevin Boone were charged with arson in Woodstock Provincial Court.  Both are scheduled to appear in court again on Monday, February 17.

RCMP and the Woodstock Police Force are continuing the investigation.
