New Brunswick Taxi Accident Claims Two Lives
Two people are dead and two others are in the hospital after a taxi cab collided with a truck in Kedgwick, New Brunswick.
According to the RCMP, a taxi carrying two teenage passengers was traveling on Chemin de la Traverse du Moulin in Kedgwick around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon when the driver lost control of the cab and collided head-on with a truck.
The taxi driver, 35-year-old Daniel Raymond and 17-year-old Mathieu Coulombe, both of Kedgwick died at the scene.
The other passenger in the taxi, a 16-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in Edmundston. He was later airlifted to the Saint John Regional Hospital. The driver of the truck, a 65-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The preliminary investigation by the RCMP suggests that speed was a contributing factor to the crash.
