Police have launched a homicide investigation into the deaths of two people found in a burning delivery truck Wednesday night in downtown Bangor.

Bangor firefighters and police responded to the vehicle fire at a business on 63 Washington Street in Bangor shortly before 10 p.m. The truck was parked under a bridge near Penobscot Plaza.

After quickly extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered two bodies in the unmarked truck, police say. Bangor police have identified the victims as 43-year-old Michael Bridges and 36-year-old Desiree York, both of Bangor.
