September 8 – Trooper Whalen responded to Mars Hill to investigate a report that a juvenile had gone to the hospital after being shot in neck with a BB gun. Investigation revealed that the juveniles were shooting a BB gun when the boy was accidentally shot... causing a BB to lodge close to an artery. The juvenile was treated and released, investigation confirmed the incident was an accident and no one charged.

September 8 – Trooper Lilley responded to an unattended death in Oakfield. A 72-year-old male was found at home deceased by a home care worker, nothing suspicious noted and it appeared the death was of natural causes.

September 8 – Trooper Bell investigated a forced entry burglary in Weston at a camp. The camp door was forced open and various items were stolen. The case remains under investigation.

September 8 – Trooper Bell responded to a harassment complaint in Orient. The complainant had made a similar complaint in the day which was unfounded, and was advised to stop talking to the alleged harassing party. When Trooper Bell arrived he found that the complainant was still texting and antagonizing the respondent. The complaint was unfounded and the complainant was told again to stop texting the respondent.

September 9 – Trooper Marquis arrested a 54-year-old Stockholm woman for a bail violation after she repeatedly continued calling her ex-husband who she was prohibited from having contact with.

September 10 – Trooper Darcy stopped a vehicle on the interstate for an expired inspection sticker. The male operator from Sherman did not have a driver’s license. Trooper Darcy summoned the male for Operating without a License.

September 10 – Trooper Darcy and Sgt. Fuller responded to a motorcycle crash on Route 159 in Crystal. The driver lost control of the motorcycle on a corner. He was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver escaped serious injury because he was wearing a helmet. Trooper Darcy learned after the crash that the operator had a suspended driver’s license for reckless driving. Trooper Darcy summoned the operator on September 13 for Operating after Suspension.

September 9-10 – Sgt. Haines instructed at the firearms range for the NESPAC Advanced Tactical School in Augusta.

September 10 – Trooper Sylvia, Sgt. Haines and ASO Deputy Palmer responded to Oakfield for a report of two men fighting. The male victim refused to cooperate, but was arrested for violating the no alcohol condition of his bail.

September 11 – Trooper Casavant arrested a 54-year-old New Brunswick woman after she showed up at the Houlton Port of Entry and Customs found she had two active warrants.

September 11 – Trooper Sylvia investigated a theft of medical marijuana in Island Falls. The victim reported his marijuana plants were stolen from his front yard where they were planted and easily visible from the roadway. The incident remains under investigation.

September 12 – Trooper Whalen responded to Madawaska High School after Madawaska PD requested a bomb dog. The PD received a threat of a bomb at the school. A sweep of the school was conducted by Trooper Whalen and his bomb K9 Bailey and nothing was found. Investigation is continuing by Madawaska PD.

September 12 – Trooper Michaud responded to Chapman for a report of an assault. A male subject had crashed into a house with a vehicle in Presque Isle. The operator called the PD and during the investigation, told PIPD officers that he had come from Chapman where he was assaulted by a man and he in turn assaulted the man before fleeing the house with the victim’s vehicle.

Trooper Michaud spent the next several hours trying to find the victim since he was no longer home when Trooper Michaud went to check on him. Trooper Michaud remained at the residence and in the early morning hours the victim returned. After speaking to the victim, Trooper Michaud arrested him for possession of concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia and charged the first male with assault and unauthorized use of property. Investigation is continuing.

September 12 – Trooper Monahan responded to Weston for a report of a camp burglary. Residents arrived at the camp to find that it appeared someone had been living at the camp recently and had started packing a lot of items in the camp in an apparent attempt to steal the items. Investigation is ongoing.

September 12 – Troopers Casavant and Doody responded to a family fight in Hodgdon. The argument was verbal only and no crime was committed. The parties were separated.

September 12 – Trooper Sylvia charged a 41-year-old Pennsylvania woman for operating without a license after he stopped her speeding on Route 11.

September 12 – Trooper Doddy arrested a 45-year-old Caribou woman on an active arrest warrant.

September 13 – Trooper Monahan participated in a speaking engagement in Presque Isle for a “Touch a Truck” event, where local children have the opportunity to see emergency vehicles up close. Trooper Monahan attended the event with our ERT response vehicle and provided tours of the ERT van and its purpose. The event was well attended.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
