Troop F Weekly Police Report November 10 – 16, 2014

Here's the latest weekly report from Troop F of the Maine State Police, based in Houlton:

Nov. 9 – Trooper Marquis responded to a rollover crash on Route 161 in Madawaska Lake. As a result, Trooper Marquis charged a 21-year-old female from Mapleton with Operating under the Influence. The female recently broke up her with her boyfriend and was traveling to see him. The female lost control of the vehicle on a curve and rolled her vehicle. The female sustained minor injuries in the crash and the vehicle was totaled.

Nov. 10 - Trooper Saucier responded to the Houlton POE for a 47-year-old Canadian male who attempted entry and had an active sealed warrant for his arrest on charges of Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs. The male stated it was mistaken identity but he matched the description on the warrant and later made partial admissions after his arrest. He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail.

Nov. 11 - Trooper Whalen and K-9 Bailey responded to the Caribou Rite Aid to assist Caribou PD with a bomb threat at the business. Trooper Whalen and Bailey searched the business with nothing suspicious found.

Nov. 12 - At approximately 2315 hrs., Trooper Jillian Monahan and Trooper Dennis Quint responded to a two-vehicle crash on Rt. 1 in Monticello in the area of the Monticello/Littleton town line. Patricia Perkins, age 35 of Presque Isle was northbound on Rt. 1 in her 2002 Saturn passenger car and drifted over the center line into the path of a southbound Toyota car operated by Michael Trader, age 29 of New York. Trader couldn’t avoid Perkins vehicle and they struck head on, causing substantial damage to both vehicles which are considered a total loss. Trader was uninjured in the crash, Perkins sustained serious internal injuries and the Monticello Jaws of Life had to be utilized to remove her from her vehicle. Perkins was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment and then transferred to EMMC in Bangor for further care.

Nov. 14 - Trooper Bell and Sgt. Fuller responded to a domestic assault in Blaine in which the male R1 nearly ran over the female victim. Trooper Bell located the R1 on US Rt. 1 in Bridgewater and he was arrested without incident after he admitted to knocking the victim over as he sped away in his truck and the victim was standing between two of the vehicle’s open doors. The victim sustained injuries to her leg and the side of her abdomen.

Nov. 14 - Trooper Darcy located a female from Oakfield with two active warrants, one of which was a failure to appear on a Class A felony. The female had been avoiding law enforcement for several months. Trooper Darcy located her in a gas station parking lot in Oakfield and arrested her. The female had bail conditions including search and testing. Trooper Darcy charged her with Violation of Conditions of Release later in the evening after she refused to provide a urine sample as part of her bail conditions.

Nov. 14 - Trooper Bell saw a male driver at a local gas station that he suspected was Operating After Suspension. Trooper Bell turned around behind the gas station to check the male’s driving status which confirmed he was OAS. When Trooper Bell returned to speak with the male, he couldn’t be found. Trooper Bell had knowledge of the male’s address and chose to set up on the appropriate road at a four way intersection where the male was found driving and charged with OAS.

Nov. 14 – Trooper Doody arrested a 31-year-old Mapleton man on an active warrant.

Nov. 15 - Trooper Marquis was called out to a rollover crash on Route 11 in Nashville PLT. As a result, Trooper Marquis charged a 19-year-old female from Portage with Operating under the Influence. The female was traveling south on Route 11 when she lost control on a curve. She went off the road, rolled over, striking a telephone poll and ended up on its top in the ditch. The female sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was totaled. Trooper Marquis was assisted at the scene by Ashland Ambulance.

Nov. 15 – Trooper Bell and Sgt. Fuller responded to a Domestic in Linneus. The 52-year-old male caller reported that he was being assaulted while driving down the road by his 26-year-old girlfriend. The couple continued to their residence where the female called and reported that she was in the house and the male was outside in his truck. The female then called back and said she had a broken jaw. Once at the scene the evidence supported the male caller who was attacked in the vehicle. The female was transported to the hospital and released with no apparent injury, other than what self-inflicted at the hospital. The female was taken to jail and booked on DV Assault and violation of bail.

Nov. 15 – Trooper Casavant assisted the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office with a 9-1-1 call from a gas station in Mars Hill. An 18-year-old male called 9-1-1 to report an issue with a group of people in Mars Hill. The male was acting paranoid and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The male caller was ultimately arrested by the Sheriff’s Department reference to a warrant.

Nov. 15 – Trooper Saucier responded to assist the Island Falls Ambulance to deal with the daughter of a Sherman female having medical issues on the interstate. The daughter was transporting the mother to the hospital for chest pains which worsened during transport and they called for an ambulance via on star. The daughter became disorderly with EMS personnel as they tried to stabilize the mother after she coded. Trooper Saucier followed the ambulance to the hospital to ensure there were no more issues.
