Jan. 12 - Trooper Saucier identified a 38-year-old female in a shoplifting video that had been earlier reported. Jan. 13- Troopers had been attempting to locate a man from Patten after a domestic that occurred on Jan. 04. He was believed to have been hiding somewhere in the Patten area. Trooper Saucier received a tip that the male and his girlfriend were at a local store and possibly heading back to a residence in Patten. Trooper Saucier passed this information on to Trooper Darcy who then went to the house and checked, but the man was not there. Trooper Darcy patrolled the area and located the male’s girlfriend. Trooper Darcy spoke with her and she admitted that he was hiding in his aunt’s house down the road. She said he was going to run if law enforcement went to the house. Trooper Darcy, Sgt. Fuller and K-9 Gleni arrived at the residence and met with the aunt. She denied the male being there. As a result of the investigation, the male was located in the residence and taken into custody without incident. Trooper Darcy charged the male on behalf of Trooper Lilley. The charges include Domestic Violence Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Obstructing the report of a crime.

Jan. 14 – Trooper Bell conducted a self-initiated well being check on an elderly male in Ludlow which the Trooper has helped in the past. The male’s chimney showed no signs of smoke, his mail was mounting up in the mailbox, and there were no fresh tracks in the driveway. Trooper Bell made contact with the male and found that his furnace had quit and he was using a kerosene “torpedo” heater to stay warm, which posed the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning. Trooper Bell worked through much of the day to get in contact with friends of the male and a heating company so the furnace could be fixed prior to negative nighttime temperatures.

Jan. 15 - Trooper Saucier investigated the report of a theft of an iPod from a 10-year-old student which occurred on a bus during a class trip. Trooper Saucier worked with school officials in questioning the 12-year-old suspect who is a student at the same school.

Jan. 17 - Trooper Levesque responded to St. John when caller reported that his pickup had been stolen while he was at a local bar and he thought it might have crashed down the road. The pickup was located on Main St. with substantial damage but attempts to locate the caller were unsuccessful. Later that morning the subject was located who said that he didn’t know who had taken the truck. The male was summonsed for OAS and lack of insurance after admitting he had been driving the truck earlier but hadn’t been driving when it crashed, maintaining that it had been stolen.

Jan. 18 - Trooper Recruit Sucy arrested male subject at his home in Hodgdon on a warrant for failure to pay fine. The arrest was made without incident.
