Dec. 8 - Trooper Quint received report of a possible assault on 3-year-old by grandmother. The 3-year-old had returned from visit with grandmother with minor injuries and mother reported the assault. Investigation is continuing but as this point does not appear to be criminal in nature.

Dec. 8 - Trooper Doody arrested a 41-year-old Woodland man on an outstanding warrant after a bail check.

Dec. 8 – Trooper Michaud investigated a burglary complaint in Woodland.  Trooper Michaud worked on the complaint throughout the afternoon and early evening and ultimately arrested a 21-year-old Woodland man for Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief.  The subject had been out of jail for 4 days and was still on probation for other burglary and theft convictions.

Dec. 8 - Trooper Bell and Trooper Michaud responded to Bridgewater in the early morning when a female reported that a father was threatening his son in a residence. Trooper Bell found that the father was intoxicated, and that he and the son had only verbally argued.  Trooper Bell cleared the scene. Minutes after leaving, the female complainant called 9-1-1 again and said that the father had grabbed her by the collar of her shirt.  Trooper Bell and Trooper Michaud responded again and investigation showed that the assault did occur.  Trooper Bell arrested the father for assault.

Dec. 8 - Trooper Darcy and Deputy Pelletier had learned that a man from Merrill and a female from Patten were hiding out in a camp in the woods in Merrill.  Both parties were violating their conditions of release and the female had an active warrant. Troopers Darcy and Bell, Sgt. Fuller & K-9 Gleni, and Dep. Pelletier took the troop truck into the camp in the woods.  Both parties were located in the camp.  Dep. Pelletier arrested the female.  Trooper Darcy arrested the male.  Both were charged with Violation of Conditions of Release.  The male’s charges were elevated to a felony because he was in possession of a firearm, against his conditions.

Dec. 9 - Trooper Darcy was called to the Circle K gas station in Sherman to assist East Millinocket PD.  A vehicle had been stolen in East Millinocket earlier that morning and the suspect and vehicle were at the gas station.  While at the gas station, the suspect stole another vehicle.  The vehicle was last seen traveling toward Route 2 in Sherman. Trooper Darcy arrived on scene and began collecting statements. While on scene, it was learned that a vehicle had been stolen in Wallagrass overnight.  That vehicle had been located on I-95 in Herseytown after the operator slid off of the road into the snowy median. Trooper Darcy collected video footage from the store that shows the suspect walking in. That photo was sent to Trooper Hafford.  Trooper Hafford believed the photo looked like Pat-rick Daigle of Wallagrass. Trooper Darcy used social media to locate an updated photo of Daigle, which looked strikingly similar.  It was also learned that Daigle lived less than a half of a mile from where the first vehicle was stolen in Wallagrass.  An attempt to locate was put out for Daigle and the stolen vehicle. Sgt. Fuller & K9 Gleni and Trooper Hafford tracked footprints from the scene of the stolen vehicle to Daigle’s front door in Wallagrass.  Later that afternoon, Daigle turned himself in to Trooper Hafford at his home in Wallagrass.  Daigle was taken into custody without incident.  Trooper Hafford and Trooper Darcy both charged Daigle with Unauthorized use of property and Operating after Suspension.

Dec. 9 - Trooper Saucier arrested a 24-year-old Patten man for violation a protection order after he repeatedly sped by his ex-girlfriend's residence and gave her the finger.

Dec. 10 - Troopers Casavant and Doody responded to Woodland for a family fight involving a 19-year-old arguing with his mother. The parties were separated and the son went to stay with his grandparents.

Dec. 10 - Trooper Levesque responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in Mapleton.  Female reported that male subject she had allowed to stay with her had taken her vehicle the previous day and hadn’t returned. Investigation is continuing but is difficult because female hadn’t registered the car and the plates belong to another vehicle along with the person she bought it from hadn’t registered it either so information on the car is limited.

Dec. 10 - Trooper Quint began an investigation into a theft complaint out of Mapleton where female reported that someone obtained access to her bank account in New York City and withdrew several thousand dollars from her account.  Trooper Quint is working with New York City LE on the investigation.

Dec. 12 - Trooper Darcy responded to a two-vehicle crash on I 95 in Island Falls. A tractor trailer struck an MDOT plow truck.  The tractor trailer continued driving after the collision.  East Millinocket PD stopped the vehicle in Medway.  As a result of the investigation, Trooper Darcy charged the operator of the tractor trailer with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.  CVEU also responded to the Medway scene for possible violations.

Dec. 13 - Trooper Saucier charged two separate motorists for OAS one in St. Agatha and another in St. Francis.

Dec. 13 - Trooper Quint responded to Bridgewater for a report of a vehicle abandoned in front of a house.  Trooper Quint found that the ignition had been tampered with and when trying to locate the owner, he spoke to the owner’s adult son who told Trooper Quint that his father was in jail.  The son denied knowledge of the vehicle being gone and said that it must have been stolen during the night.  While investigating this incident, Trooper Quint was notified of a theft of a dirt bike a short distance from where the car was abandoned and it appears the two thefts are related.  The investigation is ongoing.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
