August 31 – Trooper Monahan responded to a road rage incident between two vehicles traveling south on Rt. 1 in Bridgewater. Tractor trailer driver reported that vehicle had passed him and then kept speeding up and slowing down and refusing to let the tractor trailer pass. At the same time, the operator of other vehicle called to report the tractor trailer was tailgating him. Trooper Monahan located both vehicles as they traveled south in Littleton.

After speaking to both operators, it was determined that the tractor trailer driver had blown his horn as he traveled past the other subject’s house. The other subject then got into his car, chased down the tractor trailer and passed it then purposely reduced his speed to make the tractor trailer slow down and wouldn’t let him pass. Tractor trailer operator was summonsed for unnecessarily using horn and other operator was summonsed for operating slow to impede traffic. Although the operators did not know each other, this apparently stems from the truck driver blowing his horn each week as he goes past the house because he doesn’t like how the other male parks his car on the side of the road instead of in his driveway.
