March 22 – Trooper Flynn responded to a residence on US 1 in Cary Plt. to a report of a male subject that went off the road into the complainant’s driveway and she believed him to be intoxicated.  Tr. Flynn found a 65-year-old Hodgdon man in his GMC Jimmy attempting to get himself unstuck from the snow bank.  The man stated that he pulled into the driveway believing this was his home.  He drove within 2 feet of striking the residence and then struck a tree, tearing off a portion of the left rear quarter panel as he attempted to turn around.  The man was less than cooperative and seemed incoherent at times.  He was arrested for Operating Under the Influence and transported to the ACJ.

March 22 – Trooper Stoutamyer investigated report of a possible protection order violation in Mars Hill. Female had gotten an order against ex-boyfriend but he continued to attempt to contact her through text and phone calls.  Male was located in Linneus by Trooper Sylvia and summonsed for the violation.  The male again violated the order over the following days by trying to call her at work and an arrest warrant is being sought since male claims he is now out of state and not sure when he will return.

March 24 – Trooper Quint responded to a report of a single vehicle accident in Chapman.  Male subject had lost control and over-corrected, rolling the vehicle several times before it came to rest on its roof.  Speed and inadequate tires contributed to the accident.  More details and photo here.

March 24 – Trooper Casavant responded to Eagle Lake for report of a female that had been assaulted by boyfriend.  After investigation, male was arrested for aggravated assault, an unrelated warrant and also a possible probation violation.  Male was on probation for an earlier domestic assault on the same victim which he had recently gotten out of prison for.

March 25 – Trooper Quint responded to a report of an erratic operator in Cary Plt.  Prior to arriving, the vehicle stopped and was boxed in by other motorists so that it wouldn’t leave the area prior to Tr. Quint’s arrival.  After investigation, Tr. Quint arrested the female operator for OUI and transported her to ACJ.  Tr. Quint was assisted by Det. Clark.

March 25 – Trooper Darcy charged a male from New Brunswick for Operating after Suspension as the result of a traffic stop on I-95 in New Limerick.

March 26 – Trooper Bell and Sgt. Harris taught a class to Border Patrol Agents from the Houlton Sector. Three separate sessions were held throughout the week.

March 26 – Trooper Hafford arrested a female on a warrant in Fort Kent.

March 26 – Trooper Marquis investigated a telephone harassment complaint in Frenchville.  As a result a young female was issued a cease harassment order.

March 26 – Trooper Casavant worked a detail with the PACE Team in Southern Maine as an instructor assignment for the RTT Recruits in an effort to get them exposed to interdiction style enforcement.  As a result of one stop, marijuana was seized and the operator charged.

March 27 – Trooper Saucier investigated a theft of gasoline from a residence in Sherman.  The offender is known and the investigation is ongoing.

March 27 – Trooper Bell and Trooper Darcy took part in The 2015 Interstate 95 Challenge.  The Troopers were able to work 9 total hours monitoring I-95 and stopped a total of 19 vehicles.  22 total violations were found with some of the more serious violations being speeding, distracted driving, and failing to move over for a stopped emergency vehicle.

March 27 – Trooper Darcy observed a vehicle parked in a gas station in Oakfield.  Tr. Darcy recognized the male passenger and was aware that he had an active warrant and had been out of the area for the past 7 months.  Tr. Darcy arrested the male without incident.

March 27 – Trooper Stoutamyer began an applicant background on a subject from Presque Isle.

March 28 – Trooper Saucier began an out of state applicant background on a young man from Massachusetts.

March 28 – Troopers Saucier, Sylvia and Sgt. Haines conducted traffic enforcement on the Interstate as part of the 2015 Drive to Save Lives Campaign.  As a result, a Fort Kentman was summonsed for operating with an expired license and 16 motorists were stopped for speed.

March 28 – Trooper Darcy charged an 18-year-old female from Caribou with Operating after Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Caribou.

March 28 – Trooper Quint and Trooper Darcy were on the side of the road in Bridgewater talking and Tr. Quint still had his emergency lights on from a traffic stop he just completed.  They noticed a vehicle approaching and saw fireworks going off in the roadway.  Tr. Quint stopped the vehicle and after investigation, determined that a male passenger had thrown the fireworks out the window, Tr. Quint summonsed the male passenger for criminal use of explosives and littering.  The occupants of the car admitted that they had seen Tr. Quint’s emergency lights prior to throwing the firework out the window.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
