May 25 - Tpr. Saucier is investigating an alleged robbery in Patten. The victim reported someone took his debit card and cash and ran away, but he waited six days to report it. The investigation is ongoing.

May 25 - Tpr. Casavant and Sgt. Haines responded to Easton for a report of two men fighting. The investigation showed one man started a fight at a family BBQ with his brother in law and both men mutually fought. One was transported to the hospital with a possible broken jaw. All witnesses seemed in agreement the injured man started the fight and there was no assault.

May 26 Tpr. Casavant responded to Caswell for a man reporting hearing voices from his basement. Upon arrival, Tpr. Casavant was met in the driveway by the homeowner with two guns on him, one a loaded shotgun. The situation was resolved safely, but man is delusional and officer safety emails and CAD alerts were put out for future responses.

May 26 - Sgt. Haines conducted a speaking engagement for the teaching staff of the South Side School in Houlton on active shooter incident awareness and lock down procedures.

May 26 – Tpr. Bell arrested a male that turned himself in on an active warrant. The male was able to be bailed from the Troop F barracks.

May 27 - Tpr. Lilley responded to Rt. 11 in Masardis for a report of a two vehicle crash. Female subject had crossed the center line into the path of a tractor trailer, the operator of the truck attempted to stop and avoid the other vehicle but could not and the two vehicles struck head on. The operator of the tractor trailer was not injured, the female had to be extricated from the wreckage and she was transported to TAMC with serious lower body injuries. It appears that alcohol was a factor in the crash and Tpr. Lilley’s investigation is ongoing. Tpr. Lilley was assisted by Tpr. Stoutamyer and Tpr. Quint. details/photo here.

May 27 - Troopers Endre and Sylvia were called out to a vehicle off the road down in a brook in Bridgewater. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Blaine man was arrested for OUI. Two other occupants were also minors and intoxicated.

May 27 - Tpr. Casavant served a 48-year-old Mars Hill man with a trespassing notice on behalf of the local restaurant. The man was caught taking photos of the female waitresses and had been spoken to about the issue in the past.

May 27 - Tpr. Saucier summonsed a 27-year-old Dyer Brook woman for passing a stopped school bus after a report was made by the bus driver.

May 27 - Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on the Strip Road in Wallagrass. The investigation showed that 21-year old-operator Alesha Kelley was traveling South on the Strip Rd coming from Route 161 when she entered a corner and lost control of her vehicle. Kelley’s 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse skidded off the roadway and rolled over into the ditch impacting several trees before coming to rest on its side. The vehicle caught on fire, but was quickly extinguished by Trooper Dan Marquis and the Fort Kent Fire Department. Kelley died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Kelley was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Tr. Marquis was assisted in the investigation by CVEU Troopers Darryl Pelletier, Rob Flynn and Sgt. Josh Haines.

May 28 - Tpr. Casavant summonsed a 61-year-old woman from criminal speed after she passed him in his stealth car in Westfield.

May 29 - Tpr. Lilley conducted a bike safety event for the local Masonic Lodge bike giveaway in Dyer Brook.

May 29 - Tpr. Darcy responded to a car/moose crash in North Yarmouth Academy Grant. The driver, who was transported to the hospital in Lincoln for minor injuries, had a suspended driver’s license. Tpr. Darcy will be summonsing the Linneus female for Operating after Suspension when she returns home.

May 30 - Tpr. Darcy arrested a female at her residence in Oakfield on a warrant for failure to appear.

May 30 - Tpr. Darcy responded to four vehicle v. moose crashes over the course of two night shifts. There were no serious injuries sustained due to seat belt use.

May 30 – Sgt. Small and Tpr. Bell responded to Bridgewater for an argument between roommates. Investigation revealed that the male respondent assaulted the female victim and the incident was domestic in nature. The male was arrested for domestic violence assault.

May 31 - Tpr. Bell and Tpr. Darcy responded to a New Limerick residence where it had been reported that a male subject had assaulted several people with a metal pipe. Tpr. Silvia was called in for a K-9 track as the subject had fled the residence on foot. A short time later, a vehicle was located after it had crashed on a sharp turn not far from the residence where the assault had happened. The operator was ejected from the vehicle. It was determined that the suspect, who had assaulted the people with the pipe, had stolen the vehicle, and crashed it a short distance from the residence where the assault had taken place. He was transported the Houlton Regional Hospital. Investigation is ongoing, but the subject will be facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault. details/photo here.
