July 20 – Trooper Endre responded to a burglary at a convenience store/bar in Macwahoc. The suspect stole a cash register, cash, tobacco, and scratch off tickets. The case remains under investigation.

July 20 – Tpr. Endre arrested a male subject from Patten for violation of condition of release, after the subject’s urine test came back positive for Oxy.

July 21 – Tr Stoutamyer investigated a fatal crash where 27-year-old male was the only occupant/operator of his 2004 Toyota Matrix when he was traveling eastbound on the Conant Rd. in the town of Easton. The vehicle went off the roadway and this initial impact caused his vehicle to vault into the air and come back down into the ditch area and tumbles several times until it came to rest up on its side with the passenger side down. The tumbling of the vehicle caused the operator to be ejected out and threw him out into the roadway. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported Jamey Kennedy to the Aroostook Medical center in the neighboring town of Presque Isle where he died shortly after his arrival.

July 21 – Tr. Luce, Tr. Levesque and Tr. Quint responded to Grand Isle for a report of a family fight between a father and daughter. Investigation revealed that there was no assault but the mother had come to the house and there was a current protection order that she couldn’t be there. Mother was arrested for the violation of the P.O.

July 22 – Tr. Quint responded to Mars Hill for a report of harassment between two females. During investigation, Tr. Quint discovered the suspect had a warrant for failure to pay fines and arrested her on the warrant. The female refused to arrange bail, preferring instead to stay in jail for a few days until she could talk to a Judge so she wouldn’t have to spend her money on bail.

July 24 – Tr Stoutamyer received a report of criminal mischief at the Scovil Apartments in the town of Mars Hill where the resident of one of the apartment units had some potted plants, a small table, and a bench that were located outside of his apartment that had been damaged during the night. While Tr. Stoutamyer was there investigating the complaint he received 2 other reports of burglary that occurred there in 2 additional apartment units where their apartment’s doors were forced open and items such as a cell phone, video games, and cash were stolen. Investigation is ongoing.

July 24 – Tr Stoutamyer had a well-being check/missing person complaint of an 80-year-old male subject from Castle Hill with dementia that was supposed to be returning home from Bangor after visiting family. Male was later located in Bangor by Penobscot S.O and was okay.

July 25 – Troopers Sylvia and Endre responded to assist Houlton PD for a report a man ran on foot during a bail check. Tr. Sylvia started tracking the 24-year-old Houlton man with K9 Merry and the man was soon spotted running by officers who gave chase. Troopers Sylvia and Endre caught up to the man and physically put him to the ground and in custody. In the process the man suffered a cut over his eye and he was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital and received treatment. Sgt. Fuller responded to document the injury. The man was charged with VCR and refusing to submit to arrest.

July 25 – Troopers D’Angelo, Tr Marquis Stoutamyer responded to a compliant on the West Road in Portage for a report of a 49-year-old Portage man arguing with several people. The man left on an ATV and Troopers and Wardens were trying to locate him, but were unsuccessful. Several hours later a second call came in advising the man had returned and was now threatening people at the party with a knife and had assaulted one man with a baseball bat. The man was located by Troopers D’Angelo and Marquis at his parent’s house in Portage. The man was hiding in a shed and after getting access to the shed with the help of the family the man was subdued by the use of OC spray after threatening Tr D’Angelo and Tr Marquis with a knife. The man was taken to the ACJ and charged with three counts of bail violation, refusing to submit to an arrest, criminal threatening, and assault. The investigation is on-going and other charges are pending.

July 20-July 26 – Sgt. Haines worked with the Tactical Team in Guilford in the manhunt for homicide suspect Robert Burton.

July 25 – Tpr. Darcy, Tpr. Bell, and Sgt. Fuller responded to Patten for a report of an assault of a female and a child. Investigation revealed a male and female party was having an argument over child custody. The male grabbed the stroller with the child in it and the stroller wheel broke off accidentally causing the child to fall onto the ground. The child was not injured and no crime was committed.

July 25 – Tpr. Darcy responded to a crash in Sherman where a vehicle crashed into a church. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Several criminal charges are pending to include operating after suspension. Tpr. Darcy was assisted by Tpr. Rogers.
