There's no better feeling than hearing "Not Guilty" when your favorite rapper's freedom is on the line. There have been quite a few instances in hip-hop when rappers were tried and got off. While fans sat clutching on to hope when the odds were seemingly all stacked against the rapper, the legal system pulled through and our prized talent was set free.

Freddie Gibbs is the most recent rapper to be acquitted. Gibbs was arrested for rape charges in June after be accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman while on tour in Austria in 2015. The Gary, Ind. rapper sat overseas for over two months and was extradited from France to Austria before being officially charged in August, the whole time pleading his innocence. While the investigation continued for an additional month, the rapper was joined by his fiancé Erica Dickerson in Austria before all the charges were dropped on Sept. 30. Freddie is currently in route back to the U.S.

Over the years, we've seen quite a few rappers suffer similar fates. In 1996, Snoop Dogg was acquitted for murder and who can forget when Boosie was facing a life sentence for the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd.

In the gallery above, look over several instances when rappers were facing hefty sentences and got off.
