MDEA along with State Police and other agencies executed a search warrant early Thursday morning in East Dixfield. Three arrests were made and many items seized.

The warrant at 63 Rollins Ridge Road was issued at 4:20 a.m. Thursday to collect evidence on ongoing interstate trafficking of crack and heroin from the residence, said Stephen McCausland, Public Safety Spokesman.

Three people were arrested on drug trafficking charges & possession of schedule drugs. They were taken to the Oxford County jail. The owner of the home and eight other people who did not reside there were in the house.

41-year-old Jody Welch, the homeowner, from East Dixfield was arrested for Aggravated Trafficking of Crack. 26-year-old Rene Speranza from Peru: Unlawful Possession of Fentanyl, plus additional charges for Violation of Condition of Release. 34-year-old Adam Turner from Peru was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Fentanyl.

Agents searched the home and seized illegal drugs and items consisting of multiple digital drug scales, plastic bags, and crack cocaine in a make-shift drug processing and repackaging room. The search of the home resulted in the total discovery of approximately 83 grams of crack cocaine (cocaine base) with a street value of $8,000. Speranza and Turner were both found in possession of illegal drugs and arrested without incident, said McCausland.

Assisting the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency in the execution of the search warrant, were police officers from; Maine State Police, Dixfield PD, Oxford County Sheriff’s office, Rumford PD and the Jay Police Department.

October 23rd is the court date for Speranza and Turner who were both released on bail. Welch remains in custody with bail set at $10,000 cash.

The MDEA says more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
