Theriault To Race XFinity Series Race Friday Night

Fort Kent's Austin Theriault will race Friday night in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race in Richmond. He is going to drive the #77 car for the Obaika Racing Team.

Theriault and the Hattori Racing Team parted ways recently. Theriault was 3rd in the driver point championship in the NASCAR K & N Series at the time.

Obaika Racing is the first ever African-owned team in a major NASCAR series. Victor Obeika, from Nigeria, is the owner of the #77 and #97 cars. The team headquarters in located in Mooresville, North Carolina.

The Richmond race is Friday night at 7:30pm. Pole qualifying is at 4:15pm.

It is unclear at this time if this is a one race deal of something more long term.
