The Northeast Celebrates Autism Awareness
Autism seems to be more and more of a problem, especially for youngsters in Maine, but April is a good month to highlight and be aware of the problem to help them.
The Autism Society of Maine says that Autism is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first 3 years of a child's life.
According to studies, autism is five more times prevalent in boys than girls. Although some issues are more prevalent in one race over another, that is not the case with autism.
Researchers aren't really sure what causes autism, but they think some of it is linked to medical problems or that it's hereditary.
April is a good month for you to get involved. On April 30, 2017, you can join the Walk for Autism event. Volunteers and donations are welcome.
