08/05 – Aroostook S.O. requested a K-9 to track a male who ran from residence after Deputies surprised him while he was planting Marijuana in the back yard. Sgt. Fuller and Gleni tracked the man for 2.8 miles and were able to flush him out into the road where he was apprehended by ASO.

08/05 - Tr. Lilley was attempting to serve paperwork on a person in Patten. The male was not home but Tr. Lilley was told he had gone to Sherman with another male. Later on, Tr. Lilley was on patrol on Rt. 11 and saw a car that he remembered had been at the male’s home the night before and it appeared the male he was searching for was in the car. Tr. Lilley conducted a traffic stop and confirmed the male was the passenger and served him the paperwork. While checking the operator’s license, it was discovered his license status was revoked. The operator was charged and a driver found for the car.

08/05 - Troopers Sylvia and Saucier investigated an unattended death of a 58 year old female on the Britton Rd in Monticello. The female had been sick and nothing suspicious was noted at the scene. Tr. Sylvia was contacted by Florida authorities due to them having a bulletin about her and her husband’s radical views and threats towards law enforcement. The husband is now residing in Florida.

08/06 - Tr. Whalen and Tr. Monahan responded to domestic assault in Blaine. After investigation the husband was arrested for domestic assault on his wife.

08/06 - Tr. Lilley took a call from a resident in Vermont about a possible theft of a street sign. The resident had seen a street sign in the back of a vehicle in Vermont and thought it might be stolen. The resident did some searching and found that the street name on the sign was only found in one place in the United States, and that was Island Falls. Tr. Lilley confirmed the street was in Island Falls and also discovered from the town office that they had put up a new street sign a couple weeks prior and someone had stolen it. Residents in the area knew someone from out of state owned property on the road but no one knew their name. Tr. Lilley, using his knowledge of the area, knew the street had been named for the man who owned all the property in the area years ago. Tr. Lilley located the widow of that man, and in conversations from her, learned of a person who knew who the out of state property owners were. After some phone calls, the property owner was located in Vermont and discovered that his son was the one who was taking the street signs. The signs are being returned to the town.

08/07 - Sgt. Fuller and Tr. Quint investigated a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a Portland cellular phone number. The call originated in Easton, but the address shown was not valid. The ECS received the subscriber information which came back to a female from Portland who was listed as the protected person on an active PO. The male defendant on the PO was also from Portland. Portland PD was contacted and they showed the woman as a victim in several incidents involving the man. Sgt. Fuller and Tr. Quint checked residences in the area where the computer showed the call originating from, as well as several vehicles travelling in the area and tractor trailer units parked at McCain Foods. While they continued to check the area, another call originated from the cell phone. With the address of the caller, Sgt. Fuller and Tr. Quint went to the residence in Easton and spoke with a female (also from the Portland area) who said the phone belonged to her and had been at her residence all night. She has several animals and the phone was not locked. It is suspected that one of her pets walked on the phone and managed to make it dial 9-1-1. The woman had discovered a voice mail message left by the ECS and returned the call. There was no emergency.

Both were charged with criminal mischief. The man volunteered to leave the residence.

Trooper Quint located and spoke with the male, who was heavily intoxicated and was told to leave the apartment complex. The man left and then made his way to the back door of the apartment and re-entered the residence uninvited. The female called 9-1-1 and the Troopers, who had not gone far, returned and arrested the man. He initially resisted and had to be secured with leg straps. Quint was aware of a protective order prohibiting contact between the male and female. Tr. Quint arrested the male for violation of protection order and violation of conditions of release. The male had just been released from jail two days earlier after being arrested for violating the same protection order.
