It’s remained an open question at CBS whether the current tenth season of The Big Bang Theory might prove the last, rounding out contracts of its leads, and potentially launching a spinoff. No longer, it seems as a two-season renewal is likely imminent with fresh pay raises for the core cast.

The Hollywood Reporter says an official renewal for Seasons 11 and 12 is likely incoming for The Big Bang Theory, putting to rest several months of speculation and uncertainty. The contract raises would also generate some $1 million per episode for stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayaar, with Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik given undisclosed raises as well.

The report also notes that Season 12 is not necessarily seen as an endpoint for the series, which continues to serve CBS as a launchpad for new half-hour series. Meanwhile, the Sheldon prequel remains in development, reworking its script with creator Chuck Lorre and showrunner Steve Molaro, and “has already cast its star in advance of an official pilot order.”

It doesn’t seem as if The Big Bang Theory is going anywhere just yet, but should CBS start thinking about Season 12 as the last?
