Madawaska Police

The Madawaska Police Department is looking for a new team member to join their force in the St. John Valley. There are some forces across the country are losing funding and are having to reorganize to adjust to the loss of necessary money.

The Town of Madawaska has a new Police Chief. Lt. Ross DuBois was nominated by the Board of Selectpeople and accepted the position of Police Chief on Thursday.

33-year old Leland Cantrell had been living in Madawaska since 2014, maintaining an apartment on 13th avenue and working a steady job. But late Monday morning, the Spartanburg, South Carolina police department contacted the Madawaska police chief and requested Cantrell's arrest.
