The success of Preacher certainly opened TV doors for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, most recently with the Hulu order of Josh Hutcherson series Future Man. Now, Rogen and Goldberg are at it again two-fold, eyeing a sidekick inversion for a new FOX superhero series, and an Illuminati spoof for ABC.

Even after Season 28, no one expected The Simpsons to disband anytime soon, especially with some of TV’s biggest records on the horizon. Now, America’s first animated family will officially cross the threshold with a two-season renewal, outpacing one of TV’s biggest milestones in the process.

It remains to be seen if FOX’s Sleepy Hollow can actually pull of revamping the series without the chemistry of Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie, but at least we know when the experiment begins. From the World Series to the Super Bowl, FOX’s 24: Legacy is going to make time fly. A new trailer for the action icon’s next iteration debuted during Tuesday’s baseball tee-off, promising a new day and all the explosions therein for 24: Legacy’s Super Bowl premiere.

Now that The Simpsons firmly has 600 episodes under its belt, here’s to another 300 hours of pop-culture parody. To start, Itchy & Scratchy get a Making a Murderer makeover, as The Simpsons takes aim at Netflix’s breakout documentary series.

The Simpsons managed to dovetail its 600th episode with Season 28's “Treehouse of Horror XXVII” this coming Sunday, and no element of the series’ history is off-limits. As such, Hank Azaria will make his long-awaited return to the role of Homer’s “nemesis” Frank Grimes, the first clip of which you can watch right now.

Season 28 is shaping up to be a big one for The Simpsons; not solely for the series’ first hour-long special, or even the 600th episode, but also some of the familiar faces popping up. To wit, the joint Treehouse of Horror and 600th episode will feature the return of one of Homer’s greatest adversaries, as the famous Frank Grimes pops in from beyond the grave.

FOX pre-Batman drama Gotham owes at least some debt to The CW’s pre-Superman series Smallville, but could the two ever actually meet? Superman appears to have been freed up for DC’s TV series, and Gotham’s own Bruce Wayne wants to see a young Clark Kent crossing over as soon as possible.

Gotham weirdness aside, it feels like Season 3 straddles a line with the decision to age proto-Poison Ivy character Ivy Pepper from 14 year-old actor Clare Foley into 28 year-old Maggie Geha. Early promotional shots haven’t done the spin any favors, but producers and cast argue that Gotham Season 3 won’t utilize the Batman character’s inherent sexuality, or even her plant-related abilities.

FOX did its best to restore The X-Files to its former glory by the returns of Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny and Chris Carter, even if the final product felt notably rushed and uneven. Season 11 remains an open possibility, as FOX claims to be in “significant talks” with all three cornerstones, with intent toward a longer season.
