Aroostook Savings & Loan has donated $25,000 to the County Dialysis Center capital campaign in recognition of the difficulties faced by those in our area who battle kidney failure.

The County Dialysis Center, the only kidney dialysis service in Aroostook County and the only not-for-profit center in Maine, held a ribbon cutting and open house Thursday with patients, health care providers and business and community leaders at its expanded and updated facility located at the North Street Healthcare in Presque Isle.

Katahdin Trust Company has donated $25,000 to help upgrade the County Dialysis Center facility and equipment that allows patients from County hospitals to receive local care close to home.

Officials with Katahdin Trust Company presented the County Dialysis Center (CDC) in Presque Isle with a $25,000 donation Wednesday, July 6th to officially launch the CDC fundraising campaign.

The County Dialysis Center, the only kidney dialysis service in Aroostook County, announced the public phase of its $750,000 capital campaign for an upgraded facility and equipment.

The County Dialysis Center, which provides life-sustaining treatments to County patients with kidney disease, has received a $2,000 check  from the United Way of Aroostook County.

When the renovated gift shop at TAMC’s A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital opened in its new location in the fall of 2014, it was given a new name to better fit its new look, Country Heart Gift Shop. The name encompassed more than just the new image of the store, but also a commitment to have a “heart for giving,” and that vision came full circle recently with a donation to the County Dialysis Center.
