Aroostook County – A County-wide public service campaign that began a year ago to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment of cancer by profiling the stories of local survivors is expanding in its second year.
A former lady Hodgdon Hawk basketball stand-out has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer, and the school and her former teammates are rallying around her to help raise all the funds they can.
Something great about living in Aroostook County is when someone is down, the community really rallies around them and helps them rise and concur. The time has come once again to help one of our neighbors in need.
Aroostook County - Representatives from TAMC, the City of Presque Isle and the local patient support group C-A-N-C-E-R (Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education and Recovery) will break ground, Saturday, October 11, on a new space at TAMC’s A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital campus designed to improve and expand treatment at the region’s most comprehensive cancer center.
Maybe it's because I'm older, but it seems that cancer has been rearing its ugly head more and more these days. The amount of benefit suppers seems unusually high. That being said, these events are necessary and really do help those that need it. Like Sherry Mockler Young.
