T.I. Blasts Business Associate After His Scales 925 Restaurant Gets Eviction Notice
T.I.’s Atlanta restaurant Scales 925 is giving him a real belly ache. The eatery reportedly has been shut down by the Sheriff's department for owing over $1 million in back rent to the establishment’s landlord.
According to Rhymes With Snitch, authorities served the eviction notice on Wednesday (Aug. 10), leaving employees in the lurch. Since the restaurant's closing, T.I. has distanced himself from his business associate Charles Hughes and says he “disrespected his brand” with his mishandling of Scales 925 restaurant.
“We have NO dealings or partnerships outside of my restaurants Scales 925 which was a HUGE mistake in hindsight,” said Tip in a now deleted Instagram post (you can read it at Bossip.com).
Scales 925 has gone through a slew of problems since its opening last year. Back in October, former NBA player Glen Rice was shot in the leg outside of the establishment.
Recently, 12 former employees filed a class-action lawsuit against Scales 925 for back pay they are owed. According to their complaint, they alleged that Tip’s eatery refused to pay them properly for overtime and forced them to work off the clock. The former employees also claim that their paychecks have bounced because Hughes allegedly was taking all of the profits from the restaurant and depositing it in his own personal account.
Attorneys for T.I. had no comment on the matter. However, the Atlanta rapper may have left a cryptic message in response to his business dealings with the restaurant. Read below.
