A 60-year-old New Brunswick man has been arrested in connection with a drug investigation in Marrtown, just above Sussex.

The Southeast District RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on the Goshen Road on Saturday, according to Sgt. Dustine Rodier.  Police say they seized substances believed to be marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and oxycodone pills, hashish, and hash oil, as well as approximately 81,000 illegal cigarettes and four long guns.

As a result of the search, a 60-year-old Arden William Gregg of Marrtown was arrested. Gregg appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Monday and was charged with possession and production of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited and possession of unstamped tobacco under the Customs and Excise Act.

Gregg was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday September 1 at 9:30 a.m. for a bail hearing.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
