Stockholm Man Remains in Custody on Child Sex Abuse Charges

A man from Stockholm remains in custody after his arrest on child sexual abuse charges earlier this month.

According to Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, 21-year-old Benjamin Rossignol is being held on $10,000 bail at the Aroostook County Jail and has been charged with: sexual exploitation of a minor, dissemination of sexual explicit material, possession of sexual explicit materials, and unlawful sexual contact.

Rossignol was arrested on November 8 at his home at 28 Red Row St in Stockholm.

Investigators report Rossignol took graphic photos of a one month old girl and posted them out on the web, which were discovered by federal investigators who then contacted the Computer Crimes Unit.

He made his first appearance in court last week and his case was continued to February 18, 2014.

McCausland says if he does make bail, he will not be allowed to have any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.
