Drew Pomeranz pitched three-hit baseball into the 7th inning as the Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 last night at Fenway Park. The Sox put another game between themselves and Tampa Bay and New York as both teams lost their games.

Pomeranz allowed just one unearned run over 6.2 innings. He is now 10-4 with an ERA of 3.51.

Deven Marrero had a big two run, two out hit in the second inning. Dustin Pedroia drove in the other three runs.

A nice nine inning game that took 2-hours and 47-minutes played by two teams that looked tired.

The Sox 54-42 record puts them three games up on the Rays, 4.5 up on the Yankees.

The finale of the four game series is today with a 1:35pm start.
