Red Sox pitching gave up a franchise tying seven home runs and the Baltimore Orioles romped to a 12-7 win. The four game series ends with a 2-2 split of games.
Starter Rick Porcello gave up three homers in his six innings of work.
After Robbie Ross Jr. put the first two batters he face on base, Junichi Tazawa came on a gave up two more home runs.
And then Noe Ramirez, just up from Pawtucket, came on to give up two more.
The last time the Sox gave up that many homers was August of 2004.
On offense, the Sox collected 12 hits including another David Ortiz home run. Xander Bogaerts extended his hit streak to 26 games.
At 32-22 the Sox have a one game lead in the AL East and limp home to Fenway to take on Toronto this weekend.
