Clay Buchholz pitched 6.2 strong innings. Jackie Bradley Jr. and Chris Young hit back-to-back home runs. The Red Sox win 5-1 in San Diego and move back into a tie for first place in the AL East with Toronto.

Buchholz, starting in place of Steven Wright, scattered eight hits in giving up just one run. He didn't walk anybody and struck out six.

Matt Barnes, Fernando Abad and Joe Kelly got the last seven outs.

On offense, the big inning was the fourth when Bradley Jr. and Young hit the homers. Young, Betts and Pedroia all had two hits.

Rookie Yoan Moncada struck out four times, making it 0-for-7 with seven strikeouts over two games. He will sit in tonight's third game in San Diego.

The Sox(77-61) move back into a first place tie with the Blue Jays who lost to the Yankees 7-6 last night. You gotta see how that one ended(above)...
