Sisters in Spirit Remembers Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

Sisters in Spirit “Week of Awareness” is being observed this week in New Brunswick in soildarity with nationwide events October 4th. 

The objective is to remember missing and murdered indigenous women and girls across Canada, and to stand alongside their families to offer support.

This year, all six Maliseet (Wolastoqiyik) communities have united for a week of awareness. Information about the planned events is available at Sisters In Spirit NB website and Facebook page.

First observed in 2005, Sisters in Spirit brings aboriginal communities and other Canadians together to celebrate, honour and support aboriginal women and girls.
