A single vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Oakfield sent a 68-year-old woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Stella Fagaley from Nashua, New Hampshire went off the road into some trees on Spaulding Lake Road around 2 p.m. A medical issue is believed to be the cause of the accident, said Sheriff Darrell O. Crandall, Aroostook County Sheriff's Office.

She was wearing a seat belt and the airbags deployed, said Crandall. Houlton Ambulance took her to the hospital and the vehicle was towed away with disabling damage.

Deputy Sheriff Vance Palmer investigated the crash, assisted by Deputy Sheriff Alishia Ledger & the Oakfield Fire Department.
