Shawn Figoli was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Portland to 40 months in prison and three years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

According to court records, on May 17, 2015, Maine State Police received a report of a pickup truck being operated erratically on the Maine Turnpike.  A trooper located the vehicle at the Kennebunk Service Plaza and determined that Figoli was its operator and sole occupant.

Police said Figoli appeared to be impaired and had a bag that contained about 180 grams of heroin and fentanyl.

This case was investigated by the Maine State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
