A Hodgdon man escaped injury Saturday after his truck and trailer went out of control and rolled over on Route 1 in Hodgdon.

The crash happened around noontime, according to Acting Aroostook County Sheriff Shawn Gillen.

The investigation revealed that 44-year-old Benjamin Quint of Hodgdon was northbound in his 1991 Dodge Ram pickup hauling a trailer loaded with telephone poles.

Police say the load was not evenly distributed on the trailer. When Quint applied the brakes, the trailer overtook the truck. Quint lost control and went off of the roadway and into the ditch.

The truck rolled over, ending up its roof. Quint was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, Gillen said.

The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. Deputy Sheriff Ryan Johnston investigated the crash.
