A 22-year-old man escaped injury Thursday morning when his car went off the road in Cross Lake Township.

Trooper Andrew Levesque was traveling north on Rt. 161 shortly after 7:00 a.m. when he observed a red sedan pull out and pass another vehicle in the southbound lane.  State Police say the driver lost control of the car and skidded off the northbound side of the road and rolled over in the ditch. It was raining at the time.

Trooper Levesque stopped and assisted the driver with getting him out of the vehicle. State Police say the vehicle was operated by 22-year-old Jonny Labbe from Wallagrass.

Labbe was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. His car – a2006 Nissan Altima – sustained substantial damage.

Ambulance Inc. of Fort Kent also responded to the crash.
