Robin Thicke Says His Father Alan Thicke Was ‘The Greatest Man I’ve Ever Met’
Robin Thicke paid tribute to his father Alan Thicke, who passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack yesterday (Dec. 13) at 69 years-old.
In an interview with the L.A. Times, the "Blurred Lines" singer called his dad "the greatest man I ever met" and says the actor who played Jason Seaver on the hit 80s sitcom, Growing Pains, was "always a gentleman."
Alan Thicke suffered a heart attack while playing tennis with his 19 year-old son, Carter. Robin says that he got "closure" with his dad, who was always a big supporter of his music career.
“I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him," Robin said in the interview.
Thicke was best known for his role on Growing Pains but had returned to television on Netflix's Fuller Houser, a reboot of another popular 80s sitcom, Full House.
He's survived by his sons Brennan, Carter and Robin, as well as his wife, Tanya.
