Biddeford, Scarborough Win State LL Games
Six Little League teams have gathered in Orrington, all with the same goal - win the Maine championship, go to the regional in Bristol, Connecticut and then on to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Ellsworth, Houlton, Medovak Valley, Lewiston, Biddeford and Scarborough are all district champions. All were honored at opening ceremonies Saturday morning.
The double elimination tourney continues through July 30th.

The state tournament site rotates through Maine's six Little League districts. Orrington is a member of District #3.
Since Little League began in Maine only three teams have made it to the Williamsport World Series - 1951 Suburan Portland, the August East team of 1971 and the most recent, the 2005 Westbrook all stars.
