Jealousy is a relationship killer. It's destructive and it can emotionally drain both partners. Personally, I've been on the receiving and the giving end of the green-eyed monster. It's not fun.

If you are dealing with a jealous partner, nip it in the bud before it destroys your marriage/relationship.

Dr. Frank Gunzberg, who describes himself as a marriage-friendly psychologist, offers the following advice:

  • He says that jealous people are in emotional pain, and you can help by understanding his/her pain and verbally expressing your empathy.
  • Take an honest look at your own behavior to see if you are causing the jealousy.
  • Help your partner open up to you and share his/her feelings.
  • Be an active listener. Really hear what your partner is communicating to you.
