With their new album The Getaway right around the corner, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are out making the promotional rounds – including a visit to James Corden's Late Late Show, where they participated in the host's popular Carpool Karaoke skit on June 13.

You can watch the entire bit via the above video embed, which found the band riding to work with Corden while singing some tunes...and ultimately pulling over so Corden could wrestle frontman Anthony Kiedis in someone's front yard. It will come as no surprise to longtime fans of the band that everyone in the car ended up shirtless.

"I always knew that this would be a fun part of my life – to be in a car with you," Corden told the Chili Peppers after their ride. "But I never expected it to be as much fun as it has been. People say don’t meet your heroes, but I don’t think they ever met the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Thank you so much for this."

As previously reported, The Getaway is due out June 17, and features production by Danger Mouse and mixing by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. The new record marks the band's first full-length studio release since 2011's I'm With You, and leads into a European tour that will keep the group overseas until late October.

The band members discussed their pre-show preparations during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, with Kiedis telling the magazine he's developed a special diet and exercise routine to keep his voice in shape — as well as additional extracurricular activities that should be familiar to Corden.

"I have to run or stretch or do push-ups or wrestle Flea or something to get my blood flowing," said Kiedis. "You can't go from zero to 100 miles per hour without preparing."
