Two New Brunswick men face drug trafficking charges after RCMP found nearly two pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs during a traffic stop.

Police responded to a traffic complaint around 9 AM Thursday and pulled over a vehicle on Route 175 along the Bay of Fundy in Pennfield, N.B. 

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 5000 pills, approximately 800 grams of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as marijuana, according to West District RCMP. Police also confiscated a loaded handgun and body armour.

A 32 year-old Moncton man and a 25 year-old man from Stanley were arrested and will appear in a Saint John court on Friday.  They are charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and firearms offences.

The investigation continues.
