The Grand Falls RCMP is investigating two fires that destroyed one home in Drummond and caused significant damage to another home in New Denmark.

On July 15, shortly after 4:00 a.m., police responded to a fire at a home on Davis Mill Road in  Drummond, according to Constable Steve Gagnon of the Grand Falls Detachment.  The home was unoccupied at the time and was completely destroyed.

Later that same day, just before 11 p.m., police responded to another house fire, this one on King Kristian Road in New Denmark. The home was also unoccupied at the time and sustained significant damage..

The cause of both fires is under investigation, with the assistance of the Office of the Fire Marshal. Both are deemed to be suspicious. At this point, police are not sure if there is a link between the two fires.
