Woodstock RCMP received a notice at around 8 a.m. concerning an unsubstantiated threat on the school grounds.  As a precaution, access to the Hartland school was restricted as officers made a thorough search of the building. Students remained safe in their classrooms throughout the day  and by mid-afternoon the threat was determined to be a hoax.

Woodstock RCMP say they will continue to investigate the incident.  Police take such threats very seriously and those responsible could face criminal charges. A number of emergency resources were required to respond and this incident also caused anxiety for students, parents and the community.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Woodstock RCMP at 506-325-3000 or anonymously through NB Crime Stoppers or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The Hartland Community School has about 700 students in grades K-12.
