The Saint-Léonard RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in relation to a recent break, enter, and theft at a cottage in Rivière-Verte.

Sometime in April, a cottage on Chemin Davis was broken into, according to Constable Mathieu Poirier. The owner reported the incident to police on Tuesday, May 1. There was no damage to the cottage, however a black Hatsan Optima 20 gauge shotgun, a white antique dresser, clothing, a sofa bed, housewares as well as small appliances and beer were taken.

RCMP say a red truck has also been spotted in the area in the last few weeks and police would like to identify the driver in case they have information that may help in the investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the West District RCMP at (506) 473-3137. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact New Brunswick Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
